In the rush of modern life, it’s easy to forget the simple practices that bring us closest to Allah and purify our hearts. Here are 5 timeless habits, rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, with real stories and powerful duas to help you live a life of true peace.
1. Fulfill Your Faraiz (Mandatory Duties)
The foundation of a believer’s life is the obligatory acts that Allah has commanded: Salah, Fasting, Zakat, and Hajj (if able). These are not burdens, but gifts that build our character, discipline, and connection with Allah.
Quranic Ayah:
“Guard strictly the [five obligatory] prayers, especially the middle prayer; and stand before Allah with devotion.”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:238)
Hadith:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The difference between us and them (non-believers) is Salah. Whoever abandons it has disbelieved.”
(Tirmidhi)
Beautiful Incident:
Hazrat Bilal RA would give the Adhan even when tortured by the Quraish. Lying on burning stones, he kept repeating “Ahad, Ahad” (One, One). His dedication shows the value of guarding your Faraiz no matter what.
Practical Tip:
1. Fix your prayer timings on your phone.
2. Pray the moment Adhan is called.
3.Teach your kids the same discipline.

2️. Keep Your Heart Pure
The Prophet ﷺ said that the heart is the king of the body. If it’s pure, the whole body is pure. Remove envy, anger, arrogance, and grudges from your heart daily.
Quranic Ayah:
“And we shall remove from their hearts any deep feeling of bitterness…”
(Surah Al-Hijr, 15:47)
Hadith:
A man asked the Prophet ﷺ, “Who is the best of people?”
He ﷺ replied, “One with a clean heart and truthful tongue.”
The person asked, “We understand a truthful tongue, but what is a clean heart?”
He ﷺ said, “It is the heart that is pious and pure, with no sin, injustice, rancor, or envy.”
(Ibn Majah)
Beautiful Incident:
Once a Sahabi was declared by the Prophet ﷺ as a man of Paradise, Abdullah ibn Amr RA followed him to see what made him special. He found nothing extra — except the man said, “Every night before I sleep, I forgive everyone and clean my heart.”
Practical Tip:
Before sleeping, say: “Ya Allah, I forgive those who wronged me. Forgive me, too.”
Keep your tongue away from gossip.

3️. Be Gentle & Kind
Gentleness is Sunnah — with family, neighbors, strangers, and even enemies. Harshness only pushes people away.
Quranic Ayah:
“And speak to him gently that perhaps he may accept admonition or fear [Allah].”
(Surah Taha, 20:44)
Hadith:
“He who is deprived of gentleness is deprived of goodness.”
(Muslim)
Beautiful Incident:
When the people of Taif stoned the Prophet ﷺ, bleeding and exhausted, he could have cursed them. Instead, he ﷺ prayed, “O Allah, guide them, for they know not.” This gentleness turned enemies into believers later.
Practical Tip:
Smile often.
Speak softly.
Forgive mistakes.

4️. Engage in Abundant Dhikr & Salawat
Dhikr is food for the soul. The Prophet ﷺ’s day and night were filled with remembrance — in the market, at home, even while riding.
Quranic Ayah:
“Remember Me, I will remember you…”
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:152)
Hadith:
“The example of the one who remembers Allah and the one who does not is like the living and the dead.”
(Bukhari)
Multiple Powerful Duas & Azkaar:
1️.SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, SubhanAllahil Azeem — 100 times morning/evening
2️. Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh — for forgiveness
3️. La ilaha illa Allah, wahdahu la sharika lah… — 100 times for huge rewards
4️. Salawat: Allahumma salli ala Muhammad… (send peace & blessings)

5️. Recite the Quran Daily
The Quran heals wounds you cannot see. Recite daily, even a page.

(Surah Al-Isra, 17:9)

“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”
